Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Heather takes on the Tour de France to raise funds for Bike 4 Cancer!
On the 25 July 2018 Heather Bromley will leave to take on the epic cycle challenge Tour de France in aid of Bike 4 Cancer.Heather will be cycling from London to Paris and will also arrive in Paris in time to watch the arrival of the Tour de France on Sunday 29th July 2018!
Day 1 will see Heather cycle from London to Calais covering approximately 95 miles before catching the overnight ferry. On her second day Heather will cover approximately 75 miles cycling from Calais to Arras in Northern France and then will cycle a further 70 miles to get to Beauvais. The final push on day 4 will see Heather cycle a further 60 miles where she will finish her time in the saddle at the Eiffel Tower in Paris!
Commenting on her challenge, Heather said:
"In 2015, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. After having surgery and treatment I am now ready for a challenge to raise money for Bike 4 Cancer. I have chosen to cycle from London to Paris at the end of July!
In 2016, Bike 4 Cancer gave me the opportunity, to cycle in the Olympic Velodrome in London and even met Mark Colbourne (Gold medal winner in the London Paralympics).
I would like to raise money for Bike 4 Cancer who provide days out and short breaks for families who have been devastatingly affected by cancer.
Also, in memory of Karl Kuhwald, who tragically passed away far too soon from cancer.
