Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Kevin takes on the Ark to Arc challenge to raise funds for Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity!
On the 12 July 2017 Kevin will set off on his epic Ark to Arc challenge leaving from the Ark Cancer Centre in Basingstoke and cycling to Porstmouth before getting the overnight ferry to Caen in aid of Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity.
Kevin will then spend a further 3 days in the saddle cycling from Caen to Alencon and then onto Evreux finally finishing in Paris!
Commenting on his challenge, Kevin said:
"After being coerced into to doing the Help For Heroes dawn raid in 2016, I had to get fitter and at 55 it was no easy thing.
So, with 2017 upon us, here we go again, but all for a great cause, even though I know a few people that I’m sure would sponsor me NOT to wear Lycra.
Let’s hope the French have got a sense of humour and that it’s all downhill"
