Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Thelma Salvage will start her ride on Tuesday the 14th of June arriving in John O'Groats twelve days later. Thelma will ride through Cornwall, crossing into Devon and over the tough climbs of Dartmoor, then on her third day will take to the flat roads of Somerset before travelling through many other places including crossing into Scotland at Gretna before finally cycling along the coast and passing beautiful beaches to the finish at John O'Groats!
"Hello my name is Thelma. I enjoy cycling so I'm challenging myself to cycle Lands End to John O'Groats with a group Bike 4 Cancer.
For anyone who is suffering and those who have lost the battle to this awful disease."
