Stu Bowker completes the Sussex Beacon Half Marathon 2010

Stu's hat trick of marathons

STOP PRESS
Hastings was very tough apparently, nice weather but the first 5 miles were all uphill!! Stu didn't think he'd beat his time but actually managed to smash it by nearly 5 minutes and acheived an excellent 1h43m59s.
WELL DONE!!

Stu Bowker's running shoes are going to be in holes! He is hoping to raise funds for Sail 4Cancer whilst running not one, but THREE marathon events. He is competing in:

  • The Brighton Half Marathon on 21st February, followed by
  • The Hastings Half Marathon on 21st March, and then
  • The Brighton Marathon on 18th April – yes a FULL marathon.

This year Stu is also hoping to:
  • learn British Sign Language
  • learn to play the Fiddle and Ukelele
  • have an evening with Louis Theroux
  • cycle in the Naked Bike Ride in Brighton

    - amongst many other random activities ;)

It's fair to say Stu is no stranger to running. He competed in the Brighton Half Marathon in 2008, and beat his own time from the year before by just over 11 minutes despite worries about a dodgy hamstring, but this is his first full marathon since he competed in the London Marathon in 2003.

On supporting Sail 4 Cancer, Stu comments, "It's a great cause that helps provide enjoyment for families in a sad situation that anybody could soon encounter."
