London to Paris Bike Ride: 22-26 April 2015

Cycle from London to Paris!

Cycling from London to Paris is one of Europe's greatest cycling challenges. With three or four long days in the saddle (you choose!), you will cycle through picturesque countryside, small villages and medieval market towns. With the finish line under the Eiffel Tower, you'll have a spare day to explore Paris before returning home.

Bike 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.

Dates

This ride leaves on Wednesday 22 April, returning five days later on Sunday 26 April.

Itinerary

Day 1: London to Dover (75 miles)
An early start from Crystal Palace allows us to avoid the morning traffic. Avoiding the main roads, we cycle through the Kent countryside to Dover where we catch the ferry to Calais.

London to Paris Bike Ride Food - Bike 4 Cancer

Day 2: Calais to Abbeville (76 miles)
After breakfast we head South through beautiful French countryside towards Abbeville. Cycling along small quiet roads we pass through many small villages along the way.

Day 3: Abbeville to Beauvais (60 miles)
Our route this morning follows the river Somme out of Abbeville. We continue South along quiet French roads to the more forested region around Compiegne.

Day 4: Beauvais to Paris (50 miles)
On the final day we ride through woodland before meeting the outskirts of Paris. After cycling around the Arc de Triumph we cross the finish line beneath the Eiffel Tower.

Day 5: Paris to London (By train)
Spend the day exploring the wonderful city of Paris before catching the Eurostar back to London.

Costs

When you register, you will be asked to pay a registration fee of £99. A further £750 in costs will be payable before the departure date.

The £750 balance can either be self-funded or it can come out of your sponsorship fund, in which case a minimum sponsorship fund of £1,500 applies before any Gift Aid is added.
