Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Cycling from London to Paris is one of Europe's greatest cycling challenges.
However, to cycle the distance (385 Km / 240 miles) in just 24 hours is a monumental challenge. This is not a challenge for the faint hearted!
With the finish line under the Eiffel Tower, you'll have some spare time to explore Paris before returning home.
Day 1-2: London to Paris (240 miles)
Leaving from London on a Friday you'll ride to Brighton. Over the downs and the famous beacon at Ditching with its breath-taking and then onwards from Brighton to Newhaven where you will catch the ferry over to Dieppe.
The ferry gives us precious hours to rest before we arrive in France. Once on French soil on Saturday morning we will cycle the famous Avenue Verte cycle route which will provide traffic free cycling for the first 35 kms of the second leg of the route.
We should arrive at the outskirts of Paris after lunch. We follow the River Seine's southern esplanade as it turns towards the city before peeling off towards central Paris and the lofty Eiffel Tower, where our finish awaits.
Day 3: Paris to London (By train)
Spend the morning exploring Paris before catching the Eurostar back to London.
When you register, you will be asked to pay a registration fee of £150. A further £349 in costs will be payable before the departure date.
The £349 can either be self-funded or it can come out of your sponsorship fund, in which case a minimum sponsorship fund of £700 applies before Gift Aid is added.
Because rider numbers are strictly limited, places sell out very quickly. You must be over 18 to take part. Get in touch using the form below and we'll set the wheels in motion!
