Bike 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.

Cycle from London to Lille!

Cycling from London to Lille is one of Europe's greatest cycling challenges.

The London to Lille cycle is a perfect weekend get-away for any cyclist. This two-day cycling route takes you from the heart of London winding your way through the traditional British countryside of rural Kent before reaching the famous white cliffs of Dover. You will then find yourself travelling through beautiful, quaint French villages and the historic battlefields of WW1 before making your way to the finish line in the wonderful city of Lille.

Itinerary

Day 1: London to Calais (95 miles)
Starting bright and early from Crystal Palace heading south en-route to the coast. You will travel through rural Kent ‐ the garden of England, cycling through traditional British countryside, along the North Downs Way before reaching the white cliffs of Dover. The ferry will then take you across to Calais and your first nights resting place.

London to Paris Bike Ride Food - Bike 4 Cancer

Day 2: Calais to Lille (80 miles)
Stunning picturesque countryside awaits you in northern France where you will travel east through some beautiful quaint villages. You will then head towards your final destination - the beautiful city of Lille where you will finish the Grand Place before heading to the hotel to enjoy a celebratory meal with your fellow cyclists.

Day 3: Lille to London
You can use this day to soak up the French way of life, explore the city, and visit the landmarks that only yesterday you were cycling by. You will then meet in the afternoon at the Lille Station to catch the Eurostar home, arriving at St Pancras where you will be reunited with your bike and commence your onward journey home.

Costs

When you register, you will be asked to pay a registration fee of £99. A further £550 in costs will be payable before the departure date.

The £550 can either be self-funded or it can come out of your sponsorship fund, in which case a minimum sponsorship fund of £1,100 applies before Gift Aid is added.
