Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Starting on Clapham Common, the route travels through Mitcham, Carshalton, Chipstead, Banstead and Haywards Heath before finishing in front of Brighton Pier.
Tiphaine will have to tackle the fearsome Ditchling Beacon at the end of the 54 mile route - the highest point in East Sussex at 814 feet above sea level!
Commening on her challenge, Tiphaine said:
"With my friend Lucie we'll meet the challenge of this legendary cycle road (her for the second time) to make good use of our energy and support the families touched by cancer. We want to show how sport can actually help in such terrible circumstances. Both of us are convinced that in addition of reducing the risks to be exposed to cancer, practicing a physical exercise also bring personal satisfaction, praise, and lots of new friends to share that with to keep the head up.
For my first London to Brighton I'll be proud to ride for Bike 4 Cancer and hold the values we shared high. I hope you'll take part of the journey with us. Any participation is more than welcome, we are stronger together!"
