Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Starting on Clapham Common, the route travels through Mitcham, Carshalton, Chipstead, Banstead and Haywards Heath before finishing in front of Brighton Pier.
Sean will have to tackle the fearsome Ditchling Beacon at the end of the 54 mile route - the highest point in East Sussex at 814 feet above sea level!

Many of will know someone or a family that has either been affected by cancer, My own father Gordon Whelan passed away in 2003 after a long battle with Lung Cancer.
Over the years there have been countless friends and family who have passed away , However PR in recent years there have been more and more who have responded to treatment and have indeed been in remission after various treatments, Like any long journey it can take its toll and families often are left to care for their loved ones with very little respite.
You will also know me as a Sports minded individual a very active Freemason taking part in many charity fund raising initiatives and making a difference in the community
In June I took part in the LONDON to BRIGHTON Cycle ride for the British heart foundation and through this I found out about the event in September the charity is a fantastic charity".
