Kian Loose pedals to Brighton (2015)

Bike 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.

We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.

On Sunday the 6th of September 2015, Kian Loose will be joining 5,000 cyclists for the London to Brighton bike ride. Kian will be riding in aid of Bike 4 Cancer!

Starting on Clapham Common, the route travels through Mitcham, Carshalton, Chipstead, Banstead and Haywards Heath before finishing in front of Brighton Pier.

Kian will have to tackle the fearsome Ditchling Beacon at the end of the 58 mile route - the highest point in East Sussex at 814 feet above sea level!

Commenting on his challenge, Kian said:

'Our mother Cait McGee passed away on the 5th of July at the Arthur Rank Hospice. My mother had Liver Cancer, only diagnosed in March this year.

She died with her children and grandchildren, her younger brother and his children around her after a difficult few weeks in hopspital and being cared for at home by her children.

Mum spent her last two days at the Arthur Rank Hospice, to whom we are grateful, for helping look after her in her final days with compassion when she was no longer able to be at home with her children.

We all miss her terribly and are dealing with life without her as best we can. Please support me on this bike ride as a way to both remember Mum/Cait and to celebrate her life'.

Please sponsor Kian and leave your words of encouragement below. Thank you for your support!
