Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Starting in London, Corinne and Jo will cycle to Dover on the first day (75 miles) before catching ferry to France. Once on French soil, the girls will cycle to Abbeville on day two (80 miles). Day three will see Jo and Corinne ride to Beavais, a 60 mile trek through hilly forested areas. On the final day they will ride the final 60 miles into Paris to finish in front of the Eiffel Tower!
Commenting on their challenge, Jo and Corinne said:
On the 23rd of April 2014, we will start an epic four day cycle challenge - we hope to cycle nearly 300 miles in just four days! Quite a challenge considering our fitness level at the start of training and the fact that one of us hasn't been on a bike in years!
We have set ourselves a joint target of £3,000 and would really appreciate it if you would dig deep and sponsor us to help raise funds for a cause which is close to everyone's heart.
