Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
For many cyclists, the L'Étape du Tour is the ultimate test. But that's because they haven't heard of the Granforno Stelvio!
The Stelvio Pass is an iconic climb in Italy and arguably the most famous in the Giro d'Italia. It was once described by Lance Armstrong as the "toughest hill I have ever climbed."
Now it's time for you to do battle with the Stelvio (2,758m) from the Bormio side in partnership with our friends at 5034 Events.
We will be having a four day trip from 4/6/2015 (outbound) - 8/6/2015 (return). We always have 60 places booked for this event by default and these go quickly.
This event covers three distances 60Km, 131Km and 151Km. All three routes finish at the top of the Stelvio Pass, so there's a distance for everybody!
A non-refundable deposit of £99 is required. You can either pay the balance of £500 yourself or go along the sponsorship route where the trip costs come out of your sponsorship fund. If you can raise a minimum sponsorship fund of £1,000 (before any Gift Aid is added), no other costs will apply - i.e. you just pay the £99 deposit. 100% of the sponsorship fund will need to be raised before the departure date. Please Note: Flight costs are not included and must be arranged at your own cost.
