EVENT 3rd Aug 2019

RideLondon FreeCycle: 3 August 2019

Bike 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.

We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.

Keeping active is a great way to reduce your chances of contracting the major forms of cancer. So why not get on your bike and take part in one of London's largest mass participation sporting events? Over 50,000 people took part in 2014!

What is the FreeCycle?

Sponsored by Prudential, the FreeCycle offers a brilliant opportunity to get the whole family together to experience the fun and freedom of cycling around an 10 mile traffic free circuit in central London.

The Route

The route features many of London's world famous landmarks, from Buckingham Palace to the Tower of London via the Houses of Parliament and St Paul's. London's greatest sights will create an inspiring backdrop for a memorable day of cycling.

New for 2019

New Explore Routes have been added to the route in the City of London within the existing road-closure zone to enable participants to discover the secrets of the City on traffic-free roads.

There will also be an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the world's biggest bike bell ensemble! Over 600 cyclists are expected to take part!

Guildhall Yard and Leadenhall Market join Green Park, Tower Hill and St Paul's Churchyard as official Festival Zones. A wide range of bike-based entertainment and activities will take place at each site during the day.
