Every year Bike 4 Cancer is able to offer a number of respite days and holidays, enabling people to break away from their everyday lives and spend some quality time with their loved ones.
As you would expect from a cycling charity, our respite programmes also provide families with the opportunity to get active - with days out for all the family to activity holidays where cycling can be one of a variety of activities on offer.
By providing a wide range of respite opportunities, we endeavour to meet the specific mobility and medical needs of each family we help. For this reason, we always make contact with each family's medical team to make sure the day out or holiday is appropriate. Furthermore, if overseas travel is involved, we require you to have appropriate travel insurance in place before you travel.
Due to funding constraints however, we are strictly limited on the number of these days/holidays we can provide every year. Although our respite programmes are heavily subsidised, our beneficiaries should be prepared to pay something towards the cost.
However, unlike our day trips, our holidays are a one-off opportunity.
