Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Richard takes on the Ark to Arc challenge to raise funds for Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity!
On the 12 July 2017 Richard will set off on his epic Ark to Arc challenge leaving from the Ark Cancer Centre in Basingstoke and cycling to Porstmouth before getting the overnight ferry to Caen in aid of Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity.
Richard will then spend a further 3 days in the saddle cycling from Caen to Alencon and then onto Evreux finally finishing in Paris!
Richard is the Business Development and Marketing Manager at Phillips Solicitors.
Commenting on his challenge, Richard said:
"I’m proud to be part of the Ark Riders team, thanks to the support of my firm Phillips Solicitors.
Together with your support, we’re going to raise thousands of pounds for the Ark Cancer Centre Charity and Bike 4 Cancer.
We’re lucky in Basingstoke to have some top cancer surgeons like Merv Rees, who heads the Ark Cancer Centre Charity. But, wouldn’t it be great to have local facilities where those afflicted with cancer will have the very best treatment available, all under one roof in an uplifting environment, to beat this nasty disease?
This is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the Ark Cancer Centre Charity and Kingsclere-based Bike 4 Cancer, who do a great job in providing relief from the difficulties of living with cancer.
