Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
On the 12 July 2017 Paul will set off on his epic Ark to Arc challenge leaving from the Ark Cancer Centre in Basingstoke and cycling to Porstmouth before getting the overnight ferry to Caen in aid of Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity.
Paul will then spend a further 3 days in the saddle cycling from Caen to Alencon and then onto Evreux finally finishing in Paris!
"I like a challenge but it’s been a while since I’ve challenged myself as much as this! Something to do with being 54 and proving to myself that I can still do things on the spur of the moment…
I’ve known a few people taken by cancer. The most recent was my Aunt Janet, so I am doing this in her memory.
If I can help raise several thousand pounds this summer towards cancer treatment, then I’ll be happy in the knowledge that it might make someone’s life better.
Any pain and discomfort I experience in my leathery regions will be well worth it. Please reward my willingness to flagellate myself by giving generously - help me be a big fund-raiser!
Click the button to donate - any amount is very welcome."
