Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Kevin takes on the Ark to Arc challenge to raise funds for Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity!
On the 12 July 2017 Kevin will set off on his epic Ark to Arc challenge leaving from the Ark Cancer Centre in Basingstoke and cycling to Porstmouth before getting the overnight ferry to Caen in aid of Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity.
Kevin will then spend a further 3 days in the saddle cycling from Caen to Alencon and then onto Evreux finally finishing in Paris!
Commenting on his challenge, Kevin said:
"So my cycling charity fundraising days started in 2014 when myself and a few friends raised some money with the hope of helping to get us fit and to give a little back.
In 2016 I helped the infamous JOGLE guys complete their impressive challenge by doing the less physical effort of driving one of the support vehicles. I then completed my own achievement, London to Brighton. The team spirit was clear and there was always going to be something in the pipeline.
Fast forward to 2017 and the challenge is simple, ride over 250 miles in 4 days, in 2 countries for 2 amazing charities!
The bad news is that cancer will affect one in four of us and we need to do something about it!"
