Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
David takes on the Ark to Arc challenge to raise funds for Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity!
On the 12 July 2017 David will set off on his epic Ark to Arc challenge leaving from the Ark Cancer Centre in Basingstoke and cycling to Porstmouth before getting the overnight ferry to Caen in aid of Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity.
David will then spend a further 3 days in the saddle cycling from Caen to Alencon and then onto Evreux finally finishing in Paris!
Commenting on his challenge, David said:
"I recently took up cycling and set myself challenges, one of which was to cycle from Bristol to Reading. Then I heard from Mark Dolby about the Ark Riders, Ark Cancer Centre Charity and Bike 4 Cancer and thought it would be a great idea to give something back and help raise funds for this very worthy cause.
I have seen how this illness has affected both those with cancer and also their families and loved ones and so feel the pain I will feel will be nothing compared to this.
I look forward to the challenge. Your donations will be greatly received, many thanks for your kind support."
