Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Dave takes on the Ark to Arc challenge to raise funds for Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity!
On the 12 July 2017 Dave will set off on his epic Ark to Arc challenge leaving from the Ark Cancer Centre in Basingstoke and cycling to Porstmouth before getting the overnight ferry to Caen in aid of Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity.
Dave will then spend a further 3 days in the saddle cycling from Caen to Alencon and then onto Evreux finally finishing in Paris!
Commenting on his challenge, Dave said:
"I run Sleeping Tiger, providing coaching, leadership, sales and service training to small and medium size businesses.
I’ve done a few one-day charity rides but after highly effective badgering from one of my clients, I find myself now taking on this ride.
At this stage in my life I’m out of shape so this is no mean feat for me. But it’s motivating me to get on and train.
I lost both my parents to cancer. My mother at 64 and my father at 77. I can kind of process this but I’ve also lost friends younger than myself. I’m dedicating this ride to anyone battling with cancer or supporting others in their fight."
