Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Bernie Jones takes on the Ark to Arc challenge to raise funds for Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity!
On the 12 July 2017 Berni will set off on his epic Ark to Arc challenge leaving from the Ark Cancer Centre in Basingstoke and cycling to Porstmouth before getting the overnight ferry to Caen in aid of Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity.
Bernie will then spend a further 3 days in the saddle cycling from Caen to Alencon and then onto Evreux finally finishing in Paris!
Commenting on his challenge, Bernie said:
"Just to let all you guys know, I will be doing a charity ride again this year for Ark Cancer Charity and Bike 4 Cancer.
The support you showed last year was out of this world and although I was not going to do it this year (as I still have a few issues after my illness last year) I recently lost a family member with Cancer (Frank RIP).
I have just got to keep doing these things to show awareness and help people who suffer this terrible illness. Hopefully, you will support me again this year as what we achieved last year was amazing and thank you all so much!
The ride this year is Basingstoke to Paris, so a bit easier on my old legs over 4 days, please all dig deep and let’s get fundraising, love ya all xxxx"
